Edgemont Families,

We have had a great start to this school year. There was a great turnout at our first Parent Conferences and the first music concert of the year.  The crowds at volleyball games, football games, and cross country meets were very supportive.

Each year the school purchases planners for each of our students. This is a great tool for you to see what assignments are due and when test are coming up in your students planner. Please take the time to check the planner to keep updated on your student’s homework and test. If you find that your student has not been writing assignments etc in her/his planner please let me know so we can make sure the student knows how to use the planner.

The staff at Edgemont is working hard at implementing a research-based program called RTI (Response to Intervention) that will allow NO student to “fall through the cracks” in education. Response to Intervention takes place during FLIGHT/Homeroom Time Tuesdays through Fridays. Each RTI day has a priority subject area. Students receive stamps in their planners if the teacher would like that student to report to their classroom during the RTI time. We also have reward days for students who have made achievement in classes. Be sure and talk with your student to see if they were able to participate in the ice cream reward and this last Thursday’s reward day.

The Booster Club has been busy providing resources for support to our students and staff. A special thank you to the outstanding leadership of our Booster Club.

Thank you parents/guardian/community leaders for your continued support.  You are an important factor in making Edgemont Junior High a very special place!
