Welcome back, Eagles.  I hope you had a great summer.  I’m excited to be back in the building getting ready for the 19-20 school year.

This year, we will be welcoming several new teachers.  Mrs. Allen joins our 6th grade team, Mr. Baxter will be teaching our technology classes as well as 6th grade PE, Mr. Howard will be teaching 7th/8th grade math and 7th grade social studies, Ms. Kirkman is our new choir teacher, Ms. Ragazzo will be teaching our math resource classes, and Mr. Baduria will be teaching 6th grade music.  These new teachers will enhance our team and help us improve teaching and learning for all of our students.

Ms. Park will be returning as our Assistant Principal this year. As a graduate from the Puyallup School District and a former 6th grade teacher, she brings a informed perspective for our 6th grade transition as well as pride for our school and district.  Ms. Park is passionate about social justice and student athletics.  I'm excited to have her as part of our administrative team.

There are new additions to our curriculum as well.  We have a new Language Arts curriculum, SpringBoard, a new Social Emotional curriculum, Second Step, and a new culinary class for 7th and 8th graders.  We are working to continue to address college and career options for all our students.

Our staff is the best, and they have been working hard already to plan for a great year.
We look forward to partnering with you to make this year a successful one for all of our kids.

Your principal,

Lorraine Hirakawa
